Stone art sculptures

Sea stones, also known as pebbles that are usually found on some beaches, have been considered amulets of power and protection since ancient times because they have been sculpted by the hand of Mother Earth through its elements, mainly due to the effect of water erosion.

I wanted to sculpt in these stones their inner spirit, the energy of Nature impregnated in them during their journey through the rivers until the seashore. The sculpted faces as well as the rounded shape that the stones already possess, make them unique pieces. The faces of the spirits of these magic stones are different according to my inspiration and are modeled in mixed media and hand painted with natural pigments. The reason for adding clay instead of carving the stone is because I don’t want to break the rock to keep its original shape and energy.

These pebbles are collected by me on the beaches of the Costa Brava bathed by the Mediterranean sea in Spain. As each relief is modeled by hand and adapted to the shape of the rock, they will never be the same as well as the expressions of the faces will depend on what I perceive of each stone when having it in my hands.

SOME IDEAS TO USE THESE ROCKS

1.- Create an altar and fill your sacred space with Mother Nature’s energy.

2.- Decor your home with a touch of boho/coastal/beachy style putting some stones on a centerpiece or inside a glass vase without water.

3.- Use them as paperweights or as decorative stones for your desk. You will be more relaxed if you watch their serene faces while you work.

4.- For decoration of indoor plants. Put one or more stones on the soil of your plant pot. Stones energy is said to make plants grow prettier.

5.- Charge the stones with your own energy to use them as talismans in holistic therapies or rituals.

6-. Give them as a gift to someone who loves art, meditation, yoga and Nature in any especial occasion.

7.- Give yourself a gift and collect them. Each one is unique and will bring you good luck. The more stones you have, the luckier you will be.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

Although these stones have a protective waterproof layer of non-toxic glossy varnish with UVA ray filter, it is not recommended to use them outdoors such as gardens or balconies. So keep these rocks away from extreme temperatures and humidity, since a prolonged exposure to the Sun and rain may deteriorate colors and clay reliefs over time. These rocks cannot be underwater either, therefore they are unsuitable for aquariums, fish bowls and garden fountains.

Do not drop these stones to the ground since the sculpted faces are fragile and can break.

For cleaning, use a slightly damp cloth. For energizing, direct sunlight exposure only for a few hours is highly recommended.

Gaia Mother Earth goddess ceramic statue

Here you have my latest sculpture of goddess Gaia hand sculpted by me in terracotta. I love modeling Mother Earth as a nude pregnant woman because it is the most universal image of Nature in her second aspect as Mother Goddess. Gaia is the birth giving, sustainer and nurturer of all living beings and also symbolizes fertility and abundance.

I like representing her sitting in a yoga pose embracing her belly while meditating. This goddess has been modeled by me several times but this statue is my latest version which was made after my second baby was born. I have always sculpted in clay because is a natural material that comes from Earth and it is suitable to represent all my goddesses and nature spirits statues.

Gaia Mother Earth sculpture

Approximately 8 inches tall (20cm), Gaia is a beautiful statue to decorate many places such as a yoga retreat centre, a goddess temple, a sacred place of your home or even it can be used to decorate an urban garden. Moreover, it is a nice gift for any special occasion.

Although I have always modeled in red clay, I’m going to make other sculptures in different clays such as refractory clay and stoneware and even I’m going to experiment with paints and patinas.

This time a Gaia statue has been hand painted by my partner with acrylic paints and varnish . This blue Gaia is inspired by the Water Element as the 70% of our planet surface is covered by water.
